AlgaGen has pioneered the production of various types of zooxanthellae. The regular use of zooxanthellae will change coral husbandry like no other product on the market! Coral biology defines a relationship between a coral and its population of zooxanthellae. In fact coral health depends on the presence of zooxanthellae. As a matter of biology and in addition to stress events, corals will expel their zooxanthellae. It just happens. Over time the loss of zooxanthellae will lead to potential washed out coloration and decreased coral health. By adding AlgaGen PhycoPureZooxanthellae to your tank, you are providing a chance for your corals to reabsorb this critical element and regain color, health and flourish.

We are incredibly excited about this product. For years we have been growing and selling zooxanthellae and have heard stories ranging from stressedM.digitatasrebounding (when treated with zooxanthellae) to entire tanks coloring up, and so far, the great reviews keep coming in. Keep in mind that the use of this product does not fix a stress event such as high pH or high Alkalinity BUT once the stress event is corrected, our PhycoPureZooxanthellae will help to convalesce the damage.

Zooxanthellae is a mixture of 2 species of symbiotic microalgae, both known for their nutritional goodness as well as having attributes that include their relationship with corals and clams positively impacting on their health.

Zooxanthellae generally live inside the tissue of many marine corals and clams. The essence of the interaction is that the zooxanthellae consume the waste of its host and release sugar as a byproduct of photosynthesis, which then feeds its host.

We recommend usingPhyto-PLASM Zooxanthellaeto add to a reef tank periodically to maintain coral health and vibrancy.
