The Gold Algae Eater sparkles in a vivid golden hue, bringing a bright vibrancy to any aquarium! This slender creature has a silver underbelly, and a stunning, patterned horizontal line that accentuates its back. Native to Northern India, these fish may grow to 12. To ensure their health, an aquarium of 30 gallons or more is recommended, with plenty of plants, rocks, and driftwood. Though hardy, water parameters should remain consistent. Its important to be mindful of how the Gold Algae Eater interacts with other fish; it may pester discus and larger angelfish, or defend its territory in a community aquarium. Responsible aquarists also make sure to offer an algae-based diet, since it is the Gold Algae Eaters primary source of sustenance. Breeding has yet to be achieved in an aquarium setting. Invite the Gold Algae Eater into your space and enjoy its stunning looks and practical benefits!
